Carl-Henri Morisset, 27 years old, is a pianist born in Paris. He started studying the piano – as well as clarinet and saxophone - at the age of 8. In 2012 he begins to study at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. He studied with Pierre de Bethmann, Hervé Sellin, Riccardo Del Fra, Glenn Ferris, Dré Pallemaerts. Since 2014, he is performing regularly in Europe and world wide with the Riccardo Del Fra Quintet and in various Archie Shepp formations (Attica Blues Big Band, Archie Shepp Quartet). Since 2015 he is leading his own project with the H! quartet in France.
He has performed in several venues and festivals such as: New Orleans Jazz festival, Festival international de Montreal, Guimarães Jazz Festival, Le Toucy Jazz festival, Berlin Jazz Festival, Bimhuis, Théâtre du Châtelet, Jazz ä la Villette, Panama Jazz Festival, Bonn Jazzfest. He shared the band stand with musicians such as Archie Shepp, Ricky Ford, Riccardo Del Fra, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pierrick Pédron, Steve McCraven, Reggie Washington, Daniel Humair, Eddie Gomez, Larry Grenadier, Eddie Henderson, Bobby Few.
In 2019, he is included in the 20 emerging pianists to follow by Jazz Magazine and is nominated as the revelation of the year.
